In July 2025, the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia became thefirst stadium in Italy to be equipped with a 100% natural turf, usingthe Northbridge Bermudagrass variety, also selected for the2026 World Cup. The turf was supplied by Paradello and replaces theprevious hybrid system. The Northbridge variety, developedby Oklahoma State University, guarantees wear resistance, bright color even in winter, and rapid rooting, meetingthe needs of a high-intensity facility like the MapeiStadium, home to Serie A and Serie B matches.
